What we do
The primary purpose of Institutional Advancement is to create a strategic, integrated method of managing relationships to increase understanding and support among Barton’s key constituents, including alumni and friends, government policymakers, the media, members of the community and philanthropic entities of all types.
The mission of the Office of Institutional Advancement at Barton College is to focus on shaping the future of the College and its students by providing leadership, expertise, and support in the areas of fundraising, development, donor relations, and alumni relations.
The goal of the division of Institutional Advancement is to support the mission and strategic plan of Barton College through the raising of philanthropic dollars, electronic marketing, alumni engagement, and support. The division supports the College’s commitment to student’s intellectual, spiritual, social and cultural development through outside funding, alumni engagement, and community partnerships.
Institutional Advancement supports the mission and strategic vision of Barton College by focusing on engaging and enriching the lives of alumni by connecting them with their alma mater through an array of services, including programming and communications and maximizing the full spectrum of stakeholder experience from awareness through engagement to giving. Investment in alumni relations moves you off the starting line for fundraising with new donors and helps you overcome the resistance that often accompanies a fledgling engagement effort.
