The Campaign for

the School of Health Sciences

Barton College is transforming healthcare education for tomorrow's leaders.

For more than 120 years, Barton has evolved to meet the needs of our students, region and state, and that adaptation continues today with our new School of Health Sciences. The immense success of Barton’s 50-year nursing program, which consistently prepares 100% of its students to pass the NCLEX, demonstrates a commitment to excellence and credibility to directly address current challenges in the healthcare sector. The School of Health Sciences at Barton College will serve as a beacon for what healthcare education can and should be: interdisciplinary, human-centered, and deeply connected to community needs.

Execution of new programs and distinctive teaching approaches requires renovation and new construction. Construction will be in two phases, starting with Phase 1 that will renovate Nixon and Moye buildings, making strategic upgrades to these existing spaces providing state-of-the-art educational environments and tools.

Thanks to the generosity of early donors, board leaders, alumni, and community partners, we are $6.8 million away from completing Phase 1 and this transformational effort. The College now invites the wider community to join in helping us shape the future of healthcare education, giving Barton students access to hands-on, immersive training environments that mirror real-world clinical settings, ensuring they graduate practice-ready for the healthcare field.

“The launch of Barton’s School of Health Sciences marks a transformational moment in the life of the College,” said Barton College President, Dr. Douglas N. Searcy. “As we see beyond the present and lead change for the future, we open the doors to a new era in healthcare education. This is the dawn of a new day for Barton, our students, and the communities we serve.”
