WILSON, N.C. – Barton College is thrilled to announce the return of the highly anticipated 3rd annual Clash of the Bulldogs, a dynamic week of competition-friendly fundraising dedicated to celebrating the tradition and spirit of our 25 varsity sports across the Division of Athletics. This exciting week of giving will take place from Monday, September 23, through Friday, September 27, 2024.
During this week, each of our teams will raise support for selected initiatives that directly impact the needs of our more than 700 student-athletes. Your generosity will play a crucial role in enabling our teams to address the ever-evolving needs of our athletic programs, ensuring they have the resources necessary to succeed.
Supporters can take their engagement to the next level by participating in a variety of challenges throughout the big week. These challenges are designed to help our teams reach both their participation and dollar goals, and when achieved, they unlock additional funds that further enhance the student-athlete experience.
To stay up to date on the progress each team is making towards their goal, please visit gobulldogs.barton.edu and follow Barton Athletics on Facebook, Instagram and X: @bartonathletics.
Last year, the Clash of the Bulldogs collectively raised over $200,000, which teams used to strengthen their programs. Men’s Lacrosse has claimed the trophy for two consecutive years, raising over $28,265 from 466 gifts. This year, other teams, like Men’s Baseball, are hoping to rally their supporters together to reach their goals. “The Clash has played a pivotal role in enhancing the experience of our student-athletes,” shared Keith Gorman, Head Men’s Baseball Coach. “Thanks to your generous fundraising efforts in the past, we’ve been able to upgrade and renew technology, invest in essential equipment like pitching machines, and ensure our athletes look sharp in their gear on game day and in practice! These contributions have a direct, positive impact on our student-athletes’ performance and experience. Last year, the baseball team raised the most money in our department, and we’re aiming to top that again! We deeply appreciate your continued support and thank you for all your past contributions.”
The Division of Athletics and the Office of Institutional Advancement look forward to another successful Clash of the Bulldogs, where the Barton community has the opportunity to come together to make a lasting impact on our student-athletes. In year three, Barton College is eager to see the enthusiasm and support continue to grow. “Clash of the Bulldogs has been an incredible success, uniting our Barton College Athletics community in a spirit of friendly competition and shared purpose,” says Katie Thomason, Director of Development and Alumni Engagement. “The generosity and passionate spirit of our participants have not only raised vital funds for our athletics programs but also strengthened the bonds within our Bulldog family, making a lasting impact on the lives of our student-athletes.”
